Treasurer, Lambeth Mediation Service, London
The Treasurer will work closely with the Chair and Director of LMS to ensure that the financial management of the organisation supports the delivery of the organisation's work. While LMS has just signed a 3 year agreement with Lambeth Living to fund its community mediation it is continually challenged to secure other funding on a long term basis. London Conflict Consultants, delivering fee paid workplace mediation, is being developed as another source of income.
The key strategic challenge for LMS is to secure a range of income streams to support its work, to develop parnerships with other organisations and agencies to promote community cohesion in Lambeth and to raise the profile of its work in order to benefit and reach more service users.
We are looking for someone with financial skills and experience; a commitment to and understanding of the role of volunteer delivered services and an interest in or willingness to learn about mediation in the community and workplace.
You will play a key part in ensuring that LMS manages its resources effectively and that the Management Committee understands and exercises its financial responsibility.
This is a great opportunity to support a small but well established community organisation committed to working on community cohesion through mediation and conflict resolution as it moves into the next phase of its development.
The Treasurer would need to be able to travel to Lambeth, usually Streatham where the office is based, to attend the Management Committee and meet with the Director.
