VACANCY - LAY COUNCIL MEMBER, HEAD OF STANDARDS
 

Are you dedicated to pursuing the highest standards of care for patients? We are looking for a Head of Standards.
 
The Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists key aim is to achieve statutory registration for clinical physiologists and to improve the quality and safety of patient care.
 Are you methodical and do you work well under pressure?
Are you an excellent communicator in writing and in person? 
Do you have experience in audit and disciplinary processes and preparing and presenting evidence? The Head of Standards will sit as a full Council member, guiding the organisation to ensure the highest standards of patient safety are achieved.
 
The RCCP has held a voluntary register for practitioners in six disciplines of Clinical Physiology since 2001. These are audiology, cardiac physiology, gastro-intestinal physiology, neurophysiology, respiratory physiology & sleep physiology.
 
The post holder will oversee the Disciplinary Code in order to convene a Disciplinary Panel or Disciplinary Committee as and when required. They will act as the liaison between the Committee and the Council as well as contributing to matters discussed at Council, and the aim of attaining regulation.
 
As Head of Standards you will be expected to attend 4 Council meetings a year, take oversight of any positive disclosures submitted by applicants to the Register and oversee the process of any complaints made to the Register. We envisage a variable time commitment of approximately 7 – 20 days per year in total.
