Express Gifts, one of the UK’s largest direct mail order businesses is changing its structure and seeking a Non-Executive Director from a financial services background to complement and add value to the board, bringing independence, objectivity and an external perspective. Working across both the company and financial services boards (which meet quarterly with an anticipated annual time commitment of 15 days per annum) the role is focussed on providing leadership and strategic direction, scrutinising performance and advising on risk to achieve strategic objectives.
An experienced Non-Executive Director, you will have held a senior executive or board role in a significant complex consumer financial services organisation and ideally have additional experience at a strategic level in a retail environment.  You will have an understanding, and concern for consumer issues in financial services and a commitment to effective regulation in the pursuit of consumer protection.  An excellent relationship builder, influencer and communicator, you will demonstrate high levels of personal integrity and be prepared to challenge others’ viewpoints constructively.
