My Civil Service Pension (MyCSP) is a pioneering mutual organisation, breaking fresh ground with its innovative business model. Launched in 2012 it is a unique joint venture between employees, central Government and Equiniti designed to retain the value of public sector administration whilst injecting new investment and commercial and technical expertise from the private sector to create a thriving and profitable new business entity.
MyCSP provides a cross government shared service to over 230 Civil Service employers which includes administering pensions for the third largest defined benefit scheme in the UK. The Civil Service is its main client today but MyCSP already provides services to a wide range of other high profile public sector organisations and has ambitious plans to expand its reach further. Some of the UK’s greatest institutions are served by MyCSP and include The Victoria and Albert Museum, The Big Lottery Fund, British Library and English Heritage
Within this context, we are looking to appoint a new Chairman who will be responsible for leading and maintaining a high performance Board, building a close working relationship with the CEO as well as acting as both and internal and external ambassador for this newly formed mutual company. This is a unique opportunity to take forward this growing organisation in a role which is pivotal to building upon its success. In addition to chairing effective decision-making and providing clear direction and support to all Board members engaging with the wider business will be a key requirement as plans are put in place to grow the business in the future
We are therefore looking to attract a highly engaging Non-Executive who is a proven business leader with experience gained within /or advising commercially focused, customer driven, business services /BPO organisations. In addition to having a reputation for inspiring others and leading successful businesses, you can demonstrate personal values which align closely to that of mutuality.
