Trustees needed for Sea Sanctuary, Falmouth

Sea Sanctuary  http://www.seasanctuary.org.uk. uses the setting of the sea to promote and develop sustainable positive mental health and well being.

We provide a variety of therapeutic programmes based on shore and on the water aimed at reducing stress and anxiety, developing self reliance, social integration and employability in order to enhance and sustain long term positive sense of worth.

We are a small charity based in Falmouth Cornwall currently employing a CEO and two full time and a number of part time staff.
We are currently financed by the National Lottery, the NHS and a variety of trust funds, providing an annual budget of circa £250k.
We own a 60 foot wooden sailing vessel in which we take clients for day trips and week-long courses and also have waterside premises in which we run our shore-based programmes.

We are hoping to recruit a treasurer and one or two further trustees to assist the CEO and the existing board to further develop the charity.
Financial skills are clearly essential for the treasurer; public relations, marketing, fund-raising or general business experience would be useful in other trustees. An interest in sailing, mental health or education might make the role more involving but is not essential.
