Members interests are at the heart of The Chorley and District Building Society’s ethos. As a small regional community Building Society they have a long standing reputation for friendly, personal service together with the provision of competitive mortgage and savings products. With a strong capital base and prudent business strategy growth in profitability has resulted in a  financially strong platform to enhance and develop the customer experience.
As part of a strengthening of the Board and planned succession they are now seeking to appoint 2 Non Executives Directors to bring independent challenge, contemporary insight and support to the Executive. With a strong appreciation for the Chorley’s heritage and the community coupled with fresh and pragmatic ideas the role will involve strategy formulation, risk assessment and control of business performance. 
There are 2 candidate requirements : 
* A qualified accountant with senior executive or Board experience 
* Treasury experience either as a specialist or as part of a broader senior executive role.
Candidates in either discipline with financial services sector experience would be ideal although other related consumer sector backgrounds are welcome.
Candidates will have some experience of ALCO and Risk Committees. Commercial breadth and genuine understanding and experience of customer strategies are also required.
Experienced Non Executive Directors OR senior executives looking for their first Non Executive role are welcomed with a genuine empathy for operating in a close knit, values led organization and have an open, collaborative and genuine supportive style. Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills together with a keen intellect, high integrity and a positive, forward thinking attitude will compliment this high performing and professional Board.
