Testing of Counterfeit Products

Job: Experienced CEO

Location: Leicester

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CEO to lead a start-up company developing novel technology for the rapid, non-destructive, simple to operate testing for counterfeit high value consumer products and to launch this into the market place. The patented methodology is based on technology developed over a number of years within the Space Research Centre at the University of Leicester.

A laboratory prototype has been developed to test the authenticity of the contents of bottled whisky without the need for opening the bottle and this is the product chosen for the initial market launch. We have secured funding to develop a pre-production prototype and have an experienced team in place handling this aspect of the business. The underlying technology has the potential to be applied to other spirits and wines as well as other high value consumer products such as pharmaceuticals and cigarettes.

The CEO will deliver on the Board’s strategy including updating the business plan, overseeing the technical development and masterminding all the processes up to and including market launch, including fund raising. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate hands-on experience of successfully taking new products to market including interaction with potential clients, regulatory authorities and contract manufacturers in a directly relevant market sector in both UK and ideally internationally.

Reporting to the Board the CEO will initially operate on a part time basis for sweat equity or for a fee earned on a contingency basis. The challenge for the successful candidate will be to justify converting this into a permanent full time post with associated benefits.
