Social Media Specialist

The British Dyslexia Association, the voice for dyslexic individuals is looking for a volunteer with specific knowledge and experience of social networking. We want to generate a positive face for the BDA and make the most of the new delivery and communication channels open to us. Our head office is in Bracknell however we envisage this could be done remotely. We want someone to be able to monitor and control our social networking channels whilst capitalising on the opportunities available to promote our work.

understanding of social media, its capabilities and opportunities. Capable of working remotely and self motivated. Happy to adhere to approved guidelines and parameters. Creative and open minded to make best use of social media environment. in order to support dyslexic individuals, we want a variety of communication methods. Social media is favourably viewed by dyslexic adults and young adults and a communication tool. We want to be able to have a broad reach to individuals and want to be up to date with current developments in this area.

Opportunity to apply social media skills, use their creativity and enthusiasm whilst supporting a worthwhile charity. Dyslexia affects up to 10% of the population and is identified as a disability under the Equality Act 2010.

The volunteer may be able to work remotely or from our offices in Bracknell with our Commercial Director

We view this as a long term project although the time spent will vary. As this is internet driven, the time allocated can suit the individual. It is possible that there will be greater time input for upfront development than ongoing maintenance and monitoring of the social media platforms.
