Combating 'Senior moments'
Researchers at Northwestern University in Chicago are hopeful that it may be possible to develop a drug to address memory loss as people age. It has long been known that exercise boosts mental capacity but it was not known quite how this worked. Now researchers have discovered that hard exercise produces a brain protein called noggin, which stimulates the production of new brain cells.
Better still, it seems that too many or too much of this kind of noggin can’t do you any harm! So get signed up for your new hard exercise routine - and if you want any ideas see our topic page on Health, and give us your views on how to exercise oldies.
